Struggling to get up in the morning?

I'm someone who likes to make a plan of action to get things done on my day off, or even on the weekend. I slowly collect ideas and build an ultimate to-do list which features everything I want to accomplish on that day. It's generally a long list, but I think that I can get it all done and it will be a success. Even if I only get half of it done I think to myself that I still would be productive. I go to bed thinking about how proud I will be of my very productive day.

So I wake up and it's like 12 midday and I realise what has happened... again. I've dismissed my alarm multiple times throughout the morning and I only figure this out during random blurred visions later that day. I go into a sulk, end up not doing anything on the list and spend the day watching TV and being grumpy.

Well that was before I was introduced to the world of better alarm clocks. They are often described as annoying by the masses, but I prefer effective.

We have the puzzle alarm clock:

Pretty self-explanatory.

We have Clocky:

Who rolls around your bedroom until you catch him and shut him up!

And we have the one I use, the helicopter alarm clock:

I use this simply because it was really cheap when I got it, and my bedroom is messy enough that it takes a while to find it.

So what do you guys use to wake you up in the morning? Would you ever consider a more extreme alarm clock?

  4. Since the second and the third may have a slight chance of hitting me or me stepping on them, I choose the first one.

  5. I really need something like that.

  6. I would have to use the helicopter alarm clock. It's just simply to messy around here for the Clocky to work.

  7. Hah, really like the helicopter idea. These remind me of the Gun'O'Clock if you've ever seen that.

  8. that first paragraph is exactly me. personally I just move my phone far enough away that I have to get up to turn it off. at that point im awake enough to force myself not to sleep.

  10. Seen these ate the local "lol-tech"-ish store. Would probably be my solution once I have to get up by myself.

  11. I use my cellphone alarm and it is effective. not always, but yeah. I've seen Clocky to sell at a store once but I didn't know what it does. Amazing! hahah

  13. I think the puzzle would be the most effective for me. I'd rage if I lost a piece though.

  19. I have a tiger that is trained to jump into the pool beneath my bed, so the splash of water can wake me up. He does that at around 7am, 1hr before work

  28. first of all, these are very clever. but i would smash the shit out of them all. but really i would just sleep late like you did, but make the most out of what remained of my day off. i very rarely just sit around doing nothing, like ever.

  29. I use onlineclock.net personally. My desktop's sound system is ridiculously loud, so it works wonders. I've actually woken my neighbors with it - oops!
I would love to own a combination of all 3 of those alarm clocks though.. 3 propellers which fly away - that have a different shaped base so you can only put them into their proper spots - and of course the base of the alarm clock rolls around. Now that would have you working.
